United by purpose.
Driven by impact.
A community-driven organization bringing people together through athletic competition, wellness, community engagement, charitable fundraising and shared experiences.
Different backgrounds. One community.
Greater Common Purpose is for everyone. People from different professions, cultures and walks of life have more in common than they often realize.
Law enforcement and first responders remain welcome and important members of our community, alongside teachers, nurses, students, parents, athletes and everyday community members.
Our mission is to create opportunities to connect, challenge ourselves, support one another and contribute to something greater than ourselves.
Christopher Henry.
Founder | Greater Common Purpose
For Christopher Henry, the drive to compete, inspire, and help others has been a defining part of his life.
With a background spanning competitive athletics, fitness, community wellness, and more than 12 years in law enforcement, Christopher founded Greater Common Purpose (GCP) on a simple belief: people are stronger when they come together, and communities thrive when individuals work toward something greater than themselves.
A Lifelong Passion for Athletics and Helping Others
Christopher's passion for competition began during his high school and college years, where he participated in football and track and field. These experiences helped shape his appreciation for discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and the pursuit of personal excellence.
His competitive drive eventually led him into bodybuilding, where he competed in multiple men's physique competitions. Through his dedication to the sport, he earned professional status as an OCB All-Natural Pro athlete and achieved first-place finishes in NPC competitions.
But for Christopher, athletic achievement has never been solely about personal success. It has also been about discovering what's possible through hard work and helping others recognize their own potential.
A Career Built Around Empowering Others
Before entering law enforcement, Christopher began his professional journey working at a senior living facility as an Activities Manager. In this role, he developed exercise programs and organized activities designed to help residents remain active, engaged, and connected.
He later pursued a career as a fitness professional at a local gym, where he helped hundreds of individuals work toward their health and fitness goals.
Through coaching, encouragement, and personalized guidance, Christopher witnessed firsthand how physical fitness could do more than improve someone's health. It could build confidence, strengthen relationships, and positively influence lives.
These experiences reinforced a belief that continues to guide him today: everyone, regardless of age, background, or ability, deserves opportunities to grow, feel supported, and achieve their goals.
Service, Leadership, and Community Understanding
For more than 12 years, Christopher has served in law enforcement, continuing his commitment to public service and community well-being.
Throughout his career, he has also contributed to the development and education of future police officers.
For several years, he has assisted with defensive tactics instruction at the police academy, helping prepare new recruits for the physical demands and responsibilities of law enforcement.
He also teaches a course focused on cultural diversity and professional interactions with members of the public from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Through these responsibilities, Christopher has developed an even deeper appreciation for the importance of communication, mutual respect, understanding, and building meaningful connections between people.
His experiences have strengthened his belief that positive relationships are not defined by a person's profession, background, or circumstances, but by the willingness to listen, connect, and work together.
The Vision Behind Greater Common Purpose
Greater Common Purpose represents the intersection of Christopher's lifelong passions: athletics, personal development, education, public service, and strengthening communities.
Having spent years working with people in different environments, from senior living communities and fitness facilities to athletic competitions and law enforcement, Christopher recognized a common thread throughout his experiences.
People from all walks of life share the desire to belong, improve themselves, support others, and contribute to something meaningful.
He envisioned an organization that could bring those individuals together, breaking down barriers through shared experiences while creating opportunities to make a positive impact.
That vision became Greater Common Purpose.
Through athletic competitions, charitable fundraising, wellness initiatives, and community engagement, GCP aims to unite individuals, families, businesses, first responders, healthcare professionals, and everyday community members around a shared mission.
Its flagship competition series, GCP Games, brings that vision to life by creating opportunities for people to challenge themselves, celebrate achievement, build lasting connections, and support meaningful causes.
While Christopher's professional background includes law enforcement, his vision for GCP extends far beyond any single profession.
Greater Common Purpose is for everyone.
A Greater Purpose
Christopher's goal is to build more than an organization or an athletic competition.
He hopes to create a lasting movement that inspires individuals to challenge their limits, strengthens relationships across communities, and generates meaningful support for organizations and causes making a difference.
His belief is simple:
Competition can inspire individuals. Connection can unite people. And a shared purpose can transform communities.
Because stronger communities aren't built by one person, one profession, or one organization.
They're built together.
